After speaking with a friend involved in dog rescue. Specifically dogs with skin conditions and special needs. This shampoo was recommended to me. We have been dealing with allergies on my one-year-old pitbull for a few months now. we live in a hot humid environment in Texas and have dealt with fleas, fire ants and with what we now know is food allergies. After a couple of trips to the vet and a trip to a veterinary dermatology specialist we have now changed her food and been shampooing with this shampoo every four days and her coat has changed drastically in the last month there’s a noticeable difference and she’s no longer itching. Another plus is that this shampoo does not smell like a medicated shampoo. It has a very light berry sent to it.I never write reviews for anything but this shampoo really works. My little shih tzu has been dealing w severe skin allergies for years. Itchy, scabbing, smelly skin. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on vet visits, shots, shampoos and nothing really worked. My dog’s skin was noticeably better after one shampoo and was almost clear after two shampoos. Now I just use it once a week or every other week.Vet had me buying the 2% Chlorhexidine shampoo, but it wasn't working well. I saw 4% Chlorhexidine shampoos and decided to try this one. One dog who gets bathed twice weekly always had a weird, stinky smell from the other shampoos, and still had flakes/greasy, a day or so later. This makes her smell AWESOME!! After 3 shampoos, she isn't flaking, itching, scratching, or greasy. It's rather pricey though, especially when she's a large dog with tons of hair. Wish they sold it in a Gallon, at a more reasonable price. Our Boston terrier has dealt with Folliculitis almost yearly. We’ve tried medications from the vet, prescription shampoos, changing her food, etc. Like clockwork, she broke out again and we tried everything. Nothing was working. I decided to try this shampoo and see if it did anything and after two uses she’s already improved by roughly 50%!Update: just a few days in to using this shampoo and our pup is almost completely bump free!I wish I had before and after pictures I could post of our dogs belly. But basically she had roundish red patches with scabs in the middle and super bad dandruff. She had it for around 9 months before her vet finally told me to buy this shampoo. Not sure why she waited so long to tell me. Poor dog was getting worse, to the point where her skin was peeling off and she was loosing a lot of fur. And she smelled really bad. Like rotting skin. Her vet put her on steroids a few times but I kept thinking "how is that going to fix the problem?". Sure enough, it didn't really do nothing for the dog. I was really feeling sort of hopeless because what could I do. I tried other shampoos with 2%, I tried coconut oil, sprays, some dog conditioner, nothing worked. This shampoo was the miracle I was hoping for. We also changed her to a grain-free dog food but I am not sure if that helps or not.I used this shampoo for four weeks, 3x a week, and left it on for 10-15 minutes. I gave small amounts of peanut butter to the dog while she had to wait to be rinsed off. Sure enough, this shampoo got rid of whatever was rotting away our dogs skin. I also used a dog bath brush so that I could really scrub whatever funky stuff was in her fur, and then just let the shampoo do its thing. It's been 4 weeks now and no more dandruff, no more smell, her fur is super soft and growing back, and no more funky red grossness on her belly and under her let pits. She seems a lot happier now too. This stuff really works!I have her on a maintenance program now of once per week but eventually I will go to less often. I just want to make sure that stuff doesn't come back so I am being extra cautious. One of our dogs had sores and itching/scratching. Two vets didn’t help at all. Our new vet (for almost two years), sold us a shampoo that has worked great when used with injections of Cytopoint. Neither the shot nor shampoo works alone for our dog. This shampoo has the needed 4% chlorhexidine. It doesn’t have the perfume smell of the other shampoo and is so much less expensive. It works and leaves this old dog with a clean smell. My thoughts: This is just my observation. Our younger dog had skin issues and developed a tumor on her abdomen. Dogs sometimes lick their paws. I canceled our chemical spraying lawn service and dogs are better.4% is the magic number for product effectiveness. My dogs skin is already better after 2 uses. I'm grateful, so are they. Nice fragrance, creamy lather. Working to heal my dogs skin. Will absolutely order again. My veterinarian recommended this for my dog.
